Attorneys General to Convene in Baltimore to Discuss Coastal Environmental Issues

WHO:

The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Eastern Region is holding hold a one-day conference on Coastal Environmental Issues: Oceans, Rivers & Lakes. Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler and Maine Attorney General Janet Mills will host. Generals Gansler and Mills serve as chair and vice chair respectively of the NAAG Eastern Region, which is comprised of 11 states, Washington, DC, and two U.S. territories.

WHAT:

Topics to be addressed are Protecting and Preserving Aquatic Resources; No Discharge Zones: Current Strides toward Cleaner Coast; Impact of Liquefied Natural Gas terminals on Environmental Protection; and Regulating Coastal Energy Sources.

The keynote speaker, Robert Percival, director, Environmental Law Program, University of Maryland Law School, will address “Environmental Federalism in an Era of Globalization and Constitutional Conservatism.
