Trial Advocacy; Depositions; Biography

Laurie Lyte is Director of the Professional Development and Planning Division at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG) where she is responsible for developing and implementing continuing legal education programs for attorneys and legal assistants in the office. Since joining the Office of the Attorney General in 1999, Laurie has served in several units, spending the majority of her time as an Assistant Attorney General in the Contract Litigation Unit, litigating construction and procurement matters. Laurie came to the OAG from the U.S. Army Contracting Command Europe in Wuerzburg, Germany where she worked in the procurement field at the U.S. Army’s Regional Contracting Office. In that capacity, she was responsible for training civilian and military personnel in federal and local procurement, contingency contracting, and standards of conduct. Prior to that, Laurie was in private practice where she specialized in professional liability defense litigation, focusing primarily on legal and medical malpractice defense. Before entering private practice, she clerked for the Honorable John F. Fader II of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County. Laurie is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and the University of Baltimore, School of Law.
