Spring Meeting Media Advisory

WHO:

The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) will host its annual Spring Meeting in Washington, DC. The theme of this year’s conference is State-Federal Cooperation in a Challenging Economy.

WHAT:

Fifty state and territorial Attorneys General, their staff, federal officials, and corporate and association representatives will convene to discuss a variety of legal issues including intellectual property, consumer financial protection, campaign disclosure law, consumer product safety, Medicaid and prescription drug abuse, and immigration law. There will also be an overview of this term’s U.S. Supreme Court cases. U.S. Consumer Product Safety Chairman Inez Tenenbaum and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas are two of the guest speakers.

The Attorneys General will meet in closed sessions with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Richard Cordray of the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Implementation Team.

First session begins at noon on Monday.

Steve Marshall was appointed to the position of Alabama attorney general in February 2017.
