Raising Awareness and Effective Collaborative Approaches to Address Hate Crimes Symposium

The symposium will provide a forum allowing discussion and facilitated interactive sessions, including active group participation and presentations using varying methods. Topics will include examining a marked increase in hate crimes throughout the United States; establishing and improving efforts within the community and with federal, state, and local stakeholders to raise awareness, discuss effective strategies using collaborative approaches to better identify, investigate, prosecute, and litigate hate crime cases, exploring available legal schemes and legislative options; and studying the historical context of these crimes globally and domestically with direct access to the Museum of Tolerance, which is dedicated to examining racism and prejudice around the world with a strong emphasis on the history of the Holocaust.
