Staci Schneider sees the big picture as chief of staff for the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, overseeing all its inner workings. During her 11-year tenure she has been involved with both internal and external communications. In 2009, Staci transitioned from the chief communications officer to chief of staff under the leadership of Attorney General Greg Zoeller. In this role, she coordinates and executes office policies, oversees interaction between legal and non legal departments, and manages the public messaging of the office.
“It was nice to transition to chief of staff and be able to look at the broader strategies of the office; whereas, in communications I didn’t deal with the long term,” she said. “I enjoy that every day is always different. Any role like this you have to expect the unexpected.”
Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, Staci had an extensive career in journalism. She was a statehouse reporter covering state and local news. She was honored with the state’s highest award, the Sagamore of the Wabash, and was also the recipient of awards recognizing excellence by the Society of Professional Journalists. She also worked as the statehouse bureau chief for a radio network. When she moved into public relations, it ultimately led her to a position with the Attorney General’s office.
When she is away from the office, Staci enjoys traveling, especially taking active vacations (such as skiing and hiking). She is also a fan of fiction books including mysteries and royal intrigue. Staci received her bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Indiana University, Bloomington.
