>> NAAG RESPONSE TO OCC PROPOSED REGULATIONS ON IMPLEMENTING FINANCIAL REFORM LAW Forty-eight Attorneys General signed comments in response to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency�s (OCC) proposed regulations implementing the provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The comments, sent June 27, address specific concerns about the preemption of state law and the exercise of state enforcement powers in the proposed regulations. June 28, 2011

>> D-BLOCK WIRELESS COMMUNICATION A NAAG letter signed by 42 Attorneys General was sent to congressional leadership in support of allocating the wireless bandwidth known as D-Block to public safety, designating it for law enforcement use. August 26, 2011

>> AGS TO BACKPAGE.COM: PROVE YOU ARE FIGHTING HUMAN TRAFFICKING NAAG sent a letter today signed by 46 Attorneys General to Backpage.com, calling on the company to prove its claims that it can effectively limit prostitution and sexual trafficking activity on its website, especially ads that could involve minors. August 31, 2011

>> AGS SUPPORT CORDRAY NOMINATION FOR CFPB DIRECTOR NAAG sent a letter today signed by 37 state and territorial Attorneys General to the U.S. Senate in support of the nomination of Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). October 18, 2011

>> FEDERAL FUNDING REQUEST FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING PROGRAMS Forty-four Attorneys General signed an Oct. 28 letter to U.S. Senate and House Appropriations leadership urging them to fund a series of authorized programs to fight the growing problem of human trafficking and slavery. October 31, 2011

>> AMEND INTERNAL REVENUE CODE FOR STATE CHARITY REGULATION NAAG sent an Oct. 28 letter signed by 43 Attorneys General to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance leadership with a request to amend certain provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, allowing the IRS to freely share what is considered �tax return information� relating to charitable organizations. Such information would allow Attorneys General to pursue cases that the IRS may lack the resources or authority to undertake. October 31, 2011

>> AGS URGE FTC TO TACKLE IT THEFT Thirty-nine state and territorial Attorneys General today asked the Federal Trade Commission to use its existing powers to help tackle information technology theft, which has created unfair competition and cost U.S. jobs. November 4, 2011

>> REJECT LEGISLATION ALLOWING ROBOCALLS TO CONSUMER CELL PHONES The U.S. Congress should reject federal legislation, H.R. 3035, that would allow debt collectors and other businesses to robocall consumers on their cell phones. Fifty-four Attorneys General signed the Dec. 7 NAAG letter. December 7, 2011
