Summer Meeting Media Advisory—36 AGs to Gather in Chicago
National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).
Thirty-sixstate Attorneys General, key staff, federal officials, and corporate and association representatives will convene in Chicago, Ill., to discuss pressing legal and regulatory issues. The meeting theme is “Maximizing State and Local Partnerships to Help Constituents.” Sessions will cover search engine competition, prescription drug abuse, DNA databases, unclaimed property, cybercrime, and an update of the latest U.S. Supreme Court cases. Speakers include Attorney and Author Scott Turow, the Honorable Richard Posner, judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Gil Kerlikowske, and Dr. James Sargent of Dartmouth Medical School, who will present the William H. Sorrell Lecture on getting smoking out of the movies.

NAAG will elect its new slate of officers for 2011-2012 and host its annual awards ceremony to recognize the work of those who contribute to the Office of the Attorney General and the Association. This includes NAAG’s most prestigious honor, the Kelley-Wyman Award, bestowed upon an Attorney General who has done the most to achieve the Association’s objectives.
