Attorneys General Convened in DC for NAAG Winter Meeting
The NAAG Winter Meeting, Feb. 24-26, hosted 45 state and territorial attorneys general along with hundreds of representatives from state and federal governments, and corporate and non-profit sectors. Issues addressed included consumer protection, mental health in prisons, multistate investigations, substance abuse, and intellectual property.

AG Staff Spotlight
Cynthia Hudson was recently appointed chief deputy attorney general for the Virginia Attorney General’s Office by Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring. After eight years of serving as the city attorney for Hampton, Va., she will now continue her career in public service for the Commonwealth.

Ohio Attorney General’s Public Service Mock Trial Competition

Teams from eight Ohio law schools competed in the state’s First Annual Public Service Mock Trial Competition. With the hope of advancing the careers of law school students, contestants were matched with experienced attorneys and judged by federal and state judges to learn more about the way public service lawyers protect Ohio families.

Attorneys General Active In Crime Victims’ Rights And Consumer Protection Campaigns
March and April bring attention and activity by the attorneys general to the issues of consumer protection and crime victims’ rights with two national public awareness campaigns. Attorneys general offices across the country have approached the issues through a variety of efforts and events to spread information about services available to those in need.
