NAAG sent a letter to members of the Chairs and Ranking Members of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees and the House Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security endorsing the EAGLES Act. The EAGLES Act, named for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles, would expand the Secret Service’s National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) to include an enhanced focus on school violence prevention and is supported by a bipartisan coalition in both chambers of Congress.

Since 2002, NTAC has provided training to over 198,00 educators and public safety partners. The EAGLES Act expands that operation while also establishing a national program to expand NTAC’s research capabilities and focus on school violence prevention.
