Carol Thomas-Jacobs is currently the Acting Attorney General in Virgin Islands Office of the the Attorney General. She served as the Deputy Attorney General from August 2016 to June 2020. Ms. Thomas-Jacobs was also the Chief of the Civil Division from January 2007 to August 2016 and an assistant attorney general in the Civil Division from May 1999 to January 2007.
She graduated in 1990 from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, with a Bachelor of Arts (honors) in History and Social Studies with Education. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (honors) in 1995 from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados, and graduated from the Norman Manley Law School, University of the West Indies, Jamaica in 1997. She is admitted to practice in the U.S. Virgin Islands and New York.
