Gordon J. MacDonald took office as the attorney general of New Hampshire on April 13, 2017. He had been nominated for the position by Governor Chris Sununu and confirmed by the Executive Council on April 5, 2017.
Prior to his service as attorney general, MacDonald was in the private practice of law. Most recently, he had been a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP where he focused on commercial litigation.
MacDonald graduated from Cornell Law School magna cum laude and from Dartmouth College cum laude. He lives in Deering, N.H., with his wife, Jennifer Eber, and their daughter, Nellie.
