This course explores two powerful trends in eCommerce over the last decade and the resulting new risks to consumers. Our presenters will discuss how eCommerce platforms have become vulnerable to misuse and consumers exposed to the infiltration of illicit, illegal, fake and potentially unsafe products. The course will also present information on how it is the poorest, most disadvantaged consumers who are most vulnerable to illicit products— but it is also these consumers who tend to be the most vulnerable to fraud and other forms of illegal activities online.

This course is a part of the NAGTRI Center for Consumer Protection Partner Series and is hosted in collaboration with the Transnational Alliance to Combat Illicit Trade (TRACIT).
