Overview

Two experts in takings law discuss the Supreme Court’s decision in Knick v. Township of Scott. Likely the most important takings ruling in more than a decade, Knick overruled Williamson County and held that property owners may bring takings claims against state and local governments directly to federal court, without having to first secure just compensation under state law in state court. The panelists discuss the ruling and its practical implications.
