Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden, President of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), will host the nation’s first NAAG Presidential Initiative on Energy summit for state Attorneys General in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, May 5 – 7. The meeting is intended to educate the state Attorneys General on energy topics, so they can provide proper legal advice to governors, legislators and other policy makers on energy issues.

Highlights: The Attorneys General will discuss a wide variety of energy issues, including: nuclear energy; emissions and their influence on state energy solutions; the development of new energy sources; global climate change and the law; regulation and deregulation of energy markets; current and future energy demands; energy delivery methods; and alternative fuels.

Guest speakers include: Shell Oil Company President John Hofmeister; Ward Sproat, Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management with the U.S. Department of Energy; Ed Holland, General Counsel for Southern Company; Norman Shilling of General Electric Energy; officials with the American Alliance of Auto Manufacturers; and senior attorneys from the Attorneys General offices of Idaho, California and Virginia.
