Civil Enforcement Division, Civil Recovery Section

 

The Civil Enforcement Division of the Oregon Department of Justice is seeking applicants for a permanent full-time Assistant Attorney General in its Civil Recovery Section.  Civil Recovery Section AAGs may work remotely and in the office.  This position is Salem-based, with opportunities to also work in our Portland or Eugene offices.

 

The selected candidate will be specifically responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and litigation services to the Division of Child Support.  This includes, but is not limited to, researching and advising the agency on administrative and legal issues, representing the agency at hearings to establish, modify, and enforce child support orders, and prosecution of contempt of court.

In addition, the selected candidate may have the opportunity to represent state agencies in a wide variety of other matters, including:

  • Wildfire investigations and cost recovery.
  • Contract disputes.
  • Torts.
  • Real property disputes.
  • Injunctive relief.
  • Overpayment recovery.
  • Probate (including estates, conservatorships and guardianships).
