Assistant Attorney General – Consumer Protection & Antitrust Division:  The West Virginia Attorney General’s Office seeks one or more attorneys for its Consumer Protection & Antitrust Division. This Division protects West Virginia consumers through enforcement of the WVCCPA, the WV Antitrust Act, and other related laws. Attorneys work with consumers and companies to resolve complaints, conduct investigations of business practices, and file civil suits on behalf of the State for violations of consumer protection or antitrust laws. The office performs a wide range of work, including issues with local and national impact. Attorneys manage their own caseload, but will also work collaboratively within the office and on multistate investigations or litigations. The Division has offices in Charleston and Martinsburg.

Requirements for this position include strong written and oral communication skills, electronic discovery knowledge and negotiation experience. Consumer protection and/or antitrust background is a plus, but the office is also interested in candidates with general litigation or prosecutorial background or with other experience that may be relevant to the Consumer and Antitrust areas, including business, technology, healthcare, construction, privacy, and non-profit work. Candidates should have a commitment to public service. The Division is looking for candidates to learn and to lead, from newer admittees to senior management levels.

Candidates must have an active WV license or be eligible for admission.
