Civil Enforcement Division, Medicaid Fraud Unit

 

The Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking an attorney to serve in the Medicaid Fraud Unit (MFU) as a Medicaid Fraud Prosecutor (Assistant Attorney General).  The MFU is based in Portland and is a high-achieving multi-disciplinary team tackling health-care fraud state-wide.  The MFU is housed within the Civil Enforcement Division but handles both civil and criminal cases.  The MFU investigates and prosecutes Medicaid providers for billing fraud.  It also investigates and prosecutes allegations of neglect, abuse and financial exploitation of Medicaid clients as well as allegations of fraud in the administration of the Medicaid program.

 

The MFU attorney will primarily handle state criminal investigations and prosecutions.  MFU attorneys lead a staff of investigators, auditors, a nurse investigator and data analysts and collaborates with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies on virtually every case.  The MFU attorney will have the opportunity to work with assistant attorney generals from other state MFCUs to investigate and resolve Medicaid fraud issues that occur on a regional or national scale.
