Amanda Bowes

Since July 2020, Amanda Bowes has served as health policy analyst for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). In this role, she is responsible for supporting the attorney general community in responding to ongoing and emergent public health challenges. This includes providing technical assistance and training to attorney general office staff, conducting research on issues at the nexus of public health and the law, and establishing and maintaining partnerships with key public health stakeholders for the benefit of NAAG members.

Prior to joining NAAG, Amanda worked for several years as part of the National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD), a membership organization for state and territorial HIV and hepatitis health department programs. In her most recent role, she served as a technical assistance provider to health department HIV care programs (i.e., the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program), with particular expertise in: data systems management and integration; clinical quality management; HIV and hepatitis C co-infection; substance use and mental health conditions; and access to care among persons currently or formerly incarcerated. She also managed and oversaw a large-scale data initiative to document key trends in state and territorial Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program efforts. Prior to joining NASTAD, Amanda worked as a program assistant within the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute’s Quality of Care Program.

Amanda holds a Master of Public Health degree in health systems and policy from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health as well as a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College.
