Brian Furlong joined NAAG in May 2019 as NAGTRI program counsel. Prior to joining NAAG, Brian served for more than a decade as an assistant state’s attorney for Howard County, Md. In that position, Brian focused his practice on prosecuting violent street crime, investigating financial crimes, and defending convictions from collateral attacks. In that office, Brian also served as the chief of the District Court Division. As chief, Brian ran the day-to-day operations and trained and supervised a team of attorneys, paralegals and other staff.
Brian was born and raised in New Jersey. He completed his undergraduate education at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Upon his graduation from the University of Maryland School of Law, Brian was awarded the Public Service Award, the Order of the Coif, and the Hoffberger Clinical Law Prize for excellence as a student attorney. Brian is a member of the Maryland Bar.
