Financial Services Consumer Protection Enforcement, Education, and Training Fund Committee
The Financial Services Consumer Protection Enforcement, Education, and Training Fund Committee was established in 2012 as a NAAG special committee. Its mission is to disseminate defined grant funds primarily received from the National Mortgage Settlement to state and territorial attorneys general offices. The committee consists of five attorneys general who evaluate grant requests and determine grant recipients. The committee members are appointed by the NAAG president and approved by the NAAG Executive Committee.
Grant funds to an attorney general’s office are used to pay for expenses and training relating to the investigation and prosecution of cases involving fraud, unfair and deceptive acts and practices, and other illegal conduct related to financial services or state consumer protection laws.
