NAAG Holds 2009 Summer Meeting in Colorado
WHO: National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Summer Meeting
WHAT: Attorneys General from the states and jurisdictions, their staff, federal officials, and corporate and association representatives will convene in Colorado Springs, Colo., to discuss a number of pressing legal issues including Ponzi schemes, DNA databases, dietary supplements, Mexico-U.S. border issues, tobacco policy and recent U.S. Supreme Court cases.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 16 through Thursday, June 18
First session begins June 16 at 12:30 p.m., Mountain Time
HIGHLIGHTS: Speakers include Dr. Steven Schroeder as the first speaker of the Attorney General William H. Sorrell Lecture Series on Tobacco Policy and Enforcement; Travis Tygart, CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency; Paul G. Hayeck, associate director, Division of Enforcement of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission; Keith Mines, Narcotics Affairs Section Director in the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City; and Mary Lou Leary, deputy assistant attorney general, U.S. Dept. of Justice.
In addition, NAAG will elect its new slate of officers for 2009-2010 and host its annual awards ceremony to recognize the work of those who contribute to the Offices of the Attorneys General, including its most prestigious honor, the Kelley-Wyman Award, bestowed upon an Attorney General who has done the most to achieve the Association’s objectives.
