Washington, D.C. --- Blake Bee has been selected as the next director of the NAGTRI Center for Leadership Development (CLD). NAGTRI is the training and research arm of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG).
The CLD supports supervisory staff in state and territory attorneys general offices by providing instructional learning experiences and resources in areas of managerial leadership. The Center also provides assistance to attorney general offices on matters identified as part of NAAG management reviews. Al Lama, who held dual roles as the Center’s previous director and NAAG deputy executive director, will continue in his role as NAAG deputy executive director, working on strategic initiatives for the organization.
Bee previously served as program counsel with the NAGTRI Center for Consumer Protection (CCP). In this role, he was the editor of the CCP Monthly and greatly enhanced its quality and readership. He was responsible for developing CCP webinars and trainings, and staffed NAAG committees including the Veterans Affairs and Internet Safety/Cyber Privacy and Security Committees. He has also contributed to NAGTRI’s International Fellows Program.
“Blake is a team player, always willing to help and work until the task is complete, and always holding himself and the organization to the highest standards. I have no doubt that Blake will take CLD to new heights,” said NAAG Deputy Executive Director Al Lama. “Although Blake will be greatly missed in the CCP, NAAG is fortunate to continue to benefit from his talents through his new role in the CLD.”
“Under Al’s leadership, the Center for Leadership Development has enhanced the mission and work of attorney general offices throughout the country,” said NAAG Executive Director Chris Toth. “We are immensely grateful for his stewardship of the Center in service to the attorney general community, and I look forward to Al’s continued contributions to enhancing NAAG’s strategic initiatives.”
Prior to joining NAGTRI, Bee was executive counsel in the Mississippi Attorney General Office where we coordinated public policy matters and oversaw the office’s legislative program.
Bee earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mississippi in 2004 and his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 2007. He is admitted to practice before all Mississippi courts both state and federal.
