Protecting Our Digital Lives is Focus of NAAG Presidential Initiative Summit

National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) President and Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood will host the NAAG Presidential Initiative Summit on “Protecting Our Digital Lives: New Challenges for Attorneys General.” Attorneys general from 11 states and the District of Columbia are scheduled to attend. Summit speakers include Daniel Marti, intellectual property enforcement coordinator for the White House; Geoff Freeman, president and CEO, American Gaming Association; and David Price, PhD, head of Anti-Piracy and Analysis, International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.


The Summit will provide a forum for attorneys general and representatives from the federal government, corporations, associations, and academia to explore how to protect consumers and businesses from online criminals using new technologies. Topics to be discussed include intellectual property theft, digital currency, law enforcement collaboration in the cloud, patent trolls, counterfeit medicine and Internet pharmacies, and emerging issues in a digital world. 

NAAG will elect its new slate of officers for 2013-2014 and host its annual awards ceremony to recognize the work of those who contribute to the Office of the Attorney General and the Association. This includes NAAG’s most prestigious honor, the Kelley-Wyman Award, bestowed each year upon an attorney general who has done the most to achieve the Association’s objectives.
