Protecting Consumers from Over Prescription Training
This course will examine the role of the attorneys general in addressing the problem of the overprescribing of opioids in the United States. The course will include a presentation on proper prescribing practices juxtaposed against examples of overprescribing doctors and other health professionals. Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs’ role in tracking and monitoring the problem will be examined. The program will also address how state licensing boards take administrative action against doctors who overprescribe. Information on federal regulatory policies and prevention initiatives used to combat this problem will be explored as well.
