This webinar is the second in a series of webinars that will address core leadership competencies in the context of the offices of attorneys general. The webinar will offer managers, supervisors, and team leaders the opportunity to learn principles, practices and behaviors to enhance their effectiveness. Content focusing on general topics of leadership development can be beneficial to everyone in the workplace. Attendees can expect instructor presentation along with short reflective exercises and facilitated analysis of relevant workplace scenarios to which principles discussed will be applied. Handouts and reference papers will be made available for review prior to the webinar. Part II of the Leadership Core Competencies Series focuses on two leadership skills and behaviors that impact your effectiveness as a managerial leader: Communication and Emotional Competence. The presenter will discuss four basic techniques for communicating with purpose and four ingredients of emotional intelligence, which is generally accepted as a strong predictor of effective leadership, as well as success in life.
