New Hawaii Attorney General Appointed
The new Hawaii governor announced in January the appointment of Douglas S. Chin as attorney general. He was confirmed by the state Senate after a Feb. 13 hearing.
Attorney General Chin was a managing partner with Carlsmith Ball in Honolulu where his areas of practice included renewable energy and clean technology projects, land use and development projects, government relations, mediation, white collar criminal defense, and commercial litigation.
He is a former managing director for the City and County of Honolulu, 2010-2013, and also served over a decade with the Honolulu prosecuting attorney’s office.
He earned his law degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
