Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) issued the following statement on the passing of North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely passing of North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem. As the longest serving attorney general in the state of North Dakota, Attorney General Stenehjem will be remembered as a passionate and dedicated public servant who fought tirelessly on behalf of the people of his state. Among his colleague attorneys general, he leaves a legacy of kindness, honesty, and a willingness to work across party lines to do what’s best for his constituents. His passing is a tremendous loss for NAAG and the attorney general community. Our thoughts are with his family and staff, and all who knew him,” said NAAG President and Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller.
