The Energy & Natural Resources Division of the Idaho Office of the Attorney General is seeking applications for an attorney to provide legal counsel to the Idaho Department of Water Resources and Idaho Water Resources Board. This position will provide legal advice and representation in areas including water law, administrative law, statutory interpretation, rulemaking, contracts and regulatory enforcement, and may involve appearances in district court and the Idaho Supreme Court.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of water policy and management in Idaho as part of a team addressing complex, real-world legal and policy challenges that have a direct impact on the state and its citizens.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Admission to the Idaho State Bar and U.S. District of Idaho.
- Two years of relevant legal and technical work experience or coursework.
- Exceptional public speaking, computer, writing, editing, telephone, and client management skills are required.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Strong computer skills and effective use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of legal experience.
- Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and policies.
- Researching and preparing reports and recommendations.
