TITLE: Deputy Attorney General 1 (Section Chief)
SALARY: $121,847.68 to $170,581.04
LOCATION: Division of Law Financial Affairs and State Contracting Practice Group Transportation, Construction and Condemnation Section 25 Market Street Trenton, NJ 08625

Responsibilities
DUTIES: Under the supervision of the Assistant Attorney General(s) of the Financial Affairs & State Contracting Practice Group and/or the Director or Deputy Director of the Division of Law, will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Transportation, Construction and Condemnation Section. The Section Chief will plan and manage the operations of the section; will oversee and supervise the work of the assigned Deputy Attorneys General and staff within the section; will oversee counseling and representation of state client agencies and commissions on a wide range of statutory, regulatory and transaction matters; will supervise complex matters and litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial work, and appellate briefings; will participate in evaluations of Assistant Section Chiefs and Deputies; and will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor. Admission to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New Jersey is required.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney, two (2) years of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity.
