Andy Wilson serves as the Attorney General of Ohio, having been named by Governor Mike Dewine in June 2026. Prior to his appointment, he served as Director of the Ohio Department of Public Safety, where he oversaw statewide law enforcement, emergency management, and public safety operations.
Attorney General Wilson previously served as Clark County Prosecutor from 2011 to 2019 and began his legal career as an assistant prosecutor focusing on criminal prosecutions. He also served as a senior advisor for criminal justice policy to Governor Mike DeWine, contributing to statewide public safety and justice initiatives.
A veteran of the Ohio National Guard, Attorney General Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree from Wright State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law.
