Cori Mills was appointed Acting Attorney General of Alaska in May 2026. She has served with the Alaska Department of Law since 2012, where she has held several positions, including assistant attorney general, supervisor of the Labor and State Affairs Section, and deputy attorney general overseeing the Civil Division.
Mills’s work has included legislative and regulatory matters, representation of the Division of Elections and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, and oversight of civil legal issues affecting state agencies.
Before joining the department, Mills practiced land use and environmental law in California. She earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science.
