Russell Coleman was elected Kentucky’s 52nd Attorney General.

Over the last 20 years, Coleman has taken on violent crime and deadly drugs at the highest levels of law enforcement. In 2017, he was nominated and unanimously confirmed to be the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky. Coleman previously served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Oldham County and as Senior Advisor and Legal Counsel to U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell.

Coleman fulfilled his boyhood dream of becoming an FBI Special Agent, serving in multiple domestic offices and in a temporary assignment in Iraq. Although an injury forced him to leave the FBI, he has never lost his commitment to protecting Kentucky families.

Born in Paducah, Russell Coleman was raised in Mayfield and then rural Daviess (Thruston) and Logan (Bucksville) Counties. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kentucky. He serves on the Kentucky State Police Foundation Board. Russell lives in Oldham County with his wife, Ashley, and their three young children. The Colemans are Members of Southeast Christian Church.
