Consumer Protection 101 is an introductory-level training course for attorneys and investigators tasked with enforcing consumer protection laws who have two years or less of consumer law-related experience. This two-and-a-half-day program is intended to enhance the participants’ consumer protection knowledge and skills in a constructive and positive learning environment facilitated by experienced attorneys serving as faculty.

The program will cover a range of topics including: an introduction to state and federal consumer protection laws; investigations and pre-litigation discovery; practical considerations in bringing enforcement actions, multistate cases; common ethical issues; and a real-life case study. Participants will be required to complete pre-conference assignments and engage in individual and group skills sessions.

This training is a closed session for attorney general office staff only.
