The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) is hosting this webinar. NAAG’s membership with the IAP allows attorneys general and attorney general staff the opportunity to join this webinar at no charge.

This training will equip prosecutors with the knowledge and ability to better understand jury selection, the mechanics and nuances of the court logistics when selecting a jury, how to question potential jury panelists, and consideration of strikes for cause and peremptory challenges.

The session will provide an overview of two different types of jury system – in the UK and the US – with a focus on the US system as an example of where prosecutors play an active role in the jury selection process.  A brief segment on the IAP Standards insofar as they relate to jury selection and upholding a fair trial will be also presented.

The UK approach to Jury Selection
  • The Honorable Judge Cynthia Stephens
