This course provides an in-depth exploration of the complexities surrounding mass violence and its aftermath. Participants will learn about the critical role of the National Mass Violence Center in fostering community resilience and recovery, as well as effective strategies for supporting victims and survivors. The course emphasizes the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders, including law enforcement, victim services, and community organizations, to create a comprehensive response to mass violence. Attendees will also gain insight into the long-term impacts of mass violence on individuals and communities, and learn trauma-informed approaches to effectively support those affected. Through interactive discussions and case studies, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the challenges of mass violence response and recovery.
