State alleged that defendants attempted to establish market dominance in Louisiana by engaging in price discrimination and predatory pricing, in violation of Louisiana law. The state alleged that Classic Soft Trim has the market power necessary to recoup its investments in below-cost prices. This case was removed to federal court twice, litigated at the appellate level twice and finally settled. Settlement terms were $100,000 distributed to the law schools in the state to be used for antitrust enforcement, plus costs and $50,000 attorneys fees to the Attorney General to be used for antitrust enforcement.
