Two county commissioners agreed to settle claims that they had assisted in rigging bids for heavy equipment and trucks in Wise County. They paid fines and costs and agreed to injunctive provisions prohibiting 1) drafting of bid specifications to benefit a specific bidder, 2) meeting with prospective bidders to obtain bid specifications; 3) exchanging information regarding bids with prospective bidders. Defendants also agreed to cooperate with the state in its ongoing investigation.
