Candice M. Deisher is an Assistant Attorney General and Lead Attorney with the Virginia Attorney General’s Office in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit’s Civil Litigation section. She investigates and prosecutes all aspects of complex civil health care fraud qui tam cases in federal and state courts on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Additionally, Ms. Deisher participates in cases nationally as a member of joint investigative and settlement teams through the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units (NAMFCU). She is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to joining the Virginia Attorney General’s Office, she was an associate attorney with Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Sampson in Richmond, Virginia. Ms. Deisher is a graduate of James Madison University and Regent University School of Law. She is a frequent speaker at conferences related to the False Claims Act and health care fraud investigations. She is also an active member of the American Bar Association and currently holds a Vice Chair appointment in the Health Law Section’s Litigation and Risk Management Interest Group.
