David Chaisson is Principal Counsel to the Maryland State Treasurer. Prior to his appointment with the Treasurer he served as Deputy Counsel of Contract Litigation Unit (“CLU”) in Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General. The Contract Litigation Unit represents the major procurement units of the State of Maryland in contract and procurement issues, including litigation of contract disputes and bid protests. Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General, David was in private practice where his practice included criminal defense and civil litigation in the areas of contract, business, insurance, products liability and construction law. David is a faculty member for the National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute and has lectured on construction claims, government contracting and administrative law for the Office of the Attorney General, the University System of Maryland, Maryland Department of Transportation and the Maryland State Bar Association. David received his B.S. from Stonehill College, M.B.A. from The Johns Hopkins University and J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
