Krista Batchelder is a First Assistant Attorney General overseeing the Healthcare Unit of the Business & Licensing section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, Krista relocated to Colorado to pursue her passion for law and public service. Krista is a graduate of Dalhousie University, having obtained her Bachelor of Commerce – International Business and Economics, and her J.D. from the University of Denver – Sturm College of Law.

Krista began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney, later expanding her practice to serve as general and litigation counsel to multiple professional boards housed within the Department of Regulatory Agencies. Krista has taught continuing legal education classes for attorneys on a variety of topics including litigation skills, trial strategy, motions practice, and taking and defending depositions.
