Michael Goodwin is an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General. He is currently working in the Employment, Tort, and Public Utilities Division. Previously, Mike was a manager in the Tax Division, where he represented the Department of Revenue in Minnesota trial and appellate courts. He has significant experience in employment law, consumer protection, and civil rights, and has argued cases in the Minnesota Supreme Court, Minnesota Court of Appeals, and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mike has presented seminars on litigation strategy, appellate practice, and ethics, and his articles have appeared in local, regional, and national publications.  In 2010, Mike’s writing skills were recognized with a first place award in the Levit Writing Contest, presented by the ABA Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability. Mike is a board member with the Eighth Circuit Bar Association and the editor of its newsletter. Before going to law school, Mike worked as a reporter and photographer for a daily newspaper.
