WHO: The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG), with a membership comprised of the 56 state, District of Columbia and territory attorneys general, will host its annual Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt is the 2017-2018 NAAG president.
WHAT: Forty-one attorneys general will meet in Washington, D.C. to discuss topics including taking on corruption, net neutrality, prescription drugs, veterans affairs and gaming. Tuesday is the annual U.S. Supreme Court Perspectives luncheon where two of the nation’s leading Supreme Court practitioners offer insight into cases before the Court.
Top federal officials scheduled to speak include U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions,* OMB Director and Acting CFPB Director Mick Mulvaney, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, chairman of the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary and U.S. Surgeon General Jerome M. Adams, MD, PhD.
The NAAG presidential initiative topic, “Protecting America’s Seniors: Attorneys General United Against Elder Abuse” will be covered in a panel session titled, “Investigating Residential Medicaid Abuse and Neglect Cases.”
