Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) issued the following statement following the Pallone-Thune TRACED Act (S. 151) becoming law last month:
“We applaud Congress for passing this historic bipartisan legislation that will assist in combatting illegal robocalls and malicious spoofing that plague our citizens,” said Attorney General Jim Hood of Mississippi, Attorney General Douglas Peterson of Nebraska, Attorney General Gordon MacDonald of New Hampshire, and Attorney General Josh Stein of North Carolina, the co-sponsors of NAAG’s original letter to Senate leaders signed by 54 attorneys general in March 2019. “As chief legal officers of the states and territories, the nation’s attorneys general look forward to continue working with the telecom industry and federal regulators to help protect our residents from these illegal and unwanted robocalls.”
