Washington, D.C. – The National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) has announced the appointment of Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday as the new co-chair of the Association’s Consumer Protection Committee. This decision, approved by the Executive Committee on Monday, April 7, highlights the Committee’s commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and strengthening consumer protection efforts across the country.
“I am pleased to welcome Dave Sunday as co-chair of the NAAG Consumer Protection Committee. His dedication and expertise in consumer protection will be invaluable as we continue to address the challenges facing consumers today. I look forward to working with him to help ensure a fair and safe marketplace for all.” said Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul.
Dave Sunday holds a B.A. degree from Pennsylvania State University and a J.D. from Widener University Commonwealth Law School. He served as the District Attorney of York County from 2018 to 2025, where he led efforts to combat the opioid epidemic and protect vulnerable populations. In 2025, he was elected as the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, continuing his dedication to consumer protection and legal advocacy.

Protecting consumers from fraud, scams, and unfair business practices is a core function of Attorneys General throughout the country,” Attorney General Sunday said. “Now more than ever, consumers need safeguards from scams perpetrated by sophisticated bad actors who have weaponized modern technology. Working together, this committee will share best practices, develop new approaches, engage stakeholders to protect our citizens, especially the most vulnerable, and hold offenders accountable.”

The Consumer Protection Committee’s mission is to assist and enable attorneys general concerning consumer protection issues and matters by providing information, communication and support; to facilitate cooperation among the various attorneys general consumer protection divisions through open dialogue and communication; to plan, organize and conduct training and annual seminars for the exchange of ideas and information on matters relevant to consumer protection divisions and their issues; and to promote the development of effective consumer protection programs and education for the protection of citizens and increasing consumer awareness.
