The Attorney General is the chief legal officer of the State of Maryland. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has the general charge, supervision, and direction of the State’s legal business, acting as legal advisors and representatives of the major agencies, various boards, commissions, officials, and institutions of State Government. The OAG also protects the public by civil enforcement of antitrust, civil rights, consumer protection, and securities laws and regulations and by the prosecution of organized crime, Medicaid fraud, environmental crimes, insurance fraud, state tax evasion, and other statutorily assigned matters. As Maryland’s 47th Attorney General, Anthony G. Brown leads the Office with a critical focus on equity, justice, and fairness.
The OAG is seeking highly motivated and dedicated attorney to serve as a part-time (60%) Assistant Attorney General (AAG) representing the Baltimore County Child Support Administration (BCCSA). As a jurisdiction with one of the highest volumes of active child support cases in Maryland, BCCSA plays a vital role in ensuring that children and families receive the financial support they need to thrive. This position is part of a collaborative legal team that includes five Assistant Attorneys General and one Supervising Attorney.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of litigation experience for an AAG II, and at least five years for an AAG III. Strong analytical, writing, and advocacy skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage client relationships effectively, and develop sound legal strategies. Active membership in the Maryland Bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver, is required. Experience in family or civil law, proficiency with Maryland Electronic Courts (MDEC), and Spanish language skills are strongly preferred.
