J.D. Lavallee is excited to join the NAAG Faculty. He is an Assistant Attorney General with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office. He joined the office in 2018 as a member of the Division of Legal Counsel advising most of the State’s occupational licensing boards and other multi-member public bodies. He has served in the Office’s Environmental Protection Bureau and is currently assigned as the primary advisor to the State’s Public Utilities Commission.
Prior to joining the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, J.D. was an active-duty judge advocate (staff attorney) for the U.S. Coast Guard where he provided command advice to Coast Guard units, served as a prosecutor in military justice cases, and served as both government and respondent counsel before administrative boards. He continues to serve as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
Born in Boston and raised in New Hampshire, J.D. received his B.A. from Gordon College and his law degree from the University of Colorado. He lives with his wife and their golden retriever in central N.H. In addition to running, he enjoys spending time gardening, hiking, skiing, and embracing the great outdoors.
