Before beginning his role as Senior Corporate Counsel, Russell S. Kent served as the Special Counsel for Litigation at the Attorney General’s Office from 2004 -2020, where he handled numerous federal and state court antitrust, constitutional, election, and False Claims Act cases along with the State’s legal response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He also drafted legislation (including the 2013 rewrite of the Florida False Claims Act and the 2014 rewrite of Florida’s data breach law) and testified before various bodies. Mr. Kent received his J.D., with highest honors, from the Florida State University College of Law and spent a decade in private practice prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office in 2004. Russell is the Florida Government Bar Association’s 2015 Government Lawyer of the Year, a member of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite, and has held a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating since 2006.
