Washington, D.C. — January 14, 2026 —“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich. Mark dedicated many years to public service and to upholding the rule of law, including serving two terms as Arizona’s 26th attorney general. Today, the attorney general community honors his commitment to the people of Arizona and extends our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.At NAAG, former Attorney General Mark Brnovich served as a committed member and leader on several committees, including as Co-Chair of the Tobacco Committee, and actively participated in NAAG trainings, meetings, and multistate initiatives. To me, he was a valued colleague and friend, very bright and energetic, and that is how I will remember him.
On behalf of the National Association of Attorneys General, I offer our sympathies to his family, friends, and former colleagues. May they find comfort in the legacy of service he leaves behind.”
