Position Overview
Join the Opinions & FOIA Division in the Office of the Arkansas Attorney General (OAG) and become a subject-matter expert in a vast array of state constitutional and statutory law and in multiple areas of federal law. This position focuses on providing comprehensive legal analyses to State officials and agencies through formal legal opinions and assisting the OAG in responding to FOIA requests.
Responsibilities
As the Deputy AG for Opinions & FOIA, you will:
- Conduct complex legal research and write formal legal opinions and memoranda for the Attorney General’s review;
- Have the opportunity to enhance your research and writing skills;
- Lead a team of other attorneys; and
- Become an expert on a broad range of legal topics.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate:
- Possesses outstanding analytical reasoning and research and writing skills;
- Is a lifelong learner;
- Has leadership experience; and
- Has excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
The position’s minimum requirements include:
- A license to practice law in Arkansas or the ability to quickly obtain an Arkansas license; and
- Demonstrated experience producing work that is thorough, accurate, and timely.
