Mike Hilgers was elected Attorney General of Nebraska on November 8, 2022.
Hilgers was born and raised in Nebraska as one of five children. Hilgers received his degree in economics from Baylor University and his law degree from the University of Chicago.
He was a small business owner and entrepreneur who founded a nationally recognized company. Hilger’s law firm, Hilgers Graben, has been named one of the fastest-growing companies in the country.
Hilgers served in the Nebraska Legislature from 2017-2022 and was entrusted with leadership roles by his colleagues every year since his election. He has served as the Rules Chairman, the Chair of the Executive Board, and was elected the Speaker of the 107th Legislature.
Hilgers and his wife, Heather, have four children: Alice, Elsie, Clara Jane, and Michael.
